Making Sh Sh Ky was an experiment in homage and tribute: an attempt to create an all natural version of a now extinct synthetic perfume that I had a brief love affair with nearly a decade ago, and then turning it up to 11. Encased in vintage, handmade coconut monkey carvings, each of the three available 15ml bottles boasts a half gram of Ensar’s Oriscent Filipino, Pinoy Ltd. Sh Sh Ky is tart citrus, sweaty tropical flowers layered on an ever so slightly powdered ylang, and sticky sweet rum atop a foundation of amber, coconut and vanilla. The piercing blue cool kinam shows its presence just enough throughout the wear to keep drawing you back in. It’s a truly narcotic experience.
